Food is essential for survival, wellbeing, quality of life, and culture. The declining state of biodiversity and ecosystems round the world means we cannot continue with business-as-usual in the way we produce and consume food.

Transformative change is urgently needed....but how do we do it?

What happens in the Arctic does not stay in the Arctic.
The Arctic is not immune to what happens in the rest of the planet either due to the complex and intertwined social-ecological Earth systems. While the future is uncertain, knowing that the unexpected is to be expected, what does science suggest about the future of the Arctic Ocean? Can it be equitable and sustainable?

I research “multi-service battery operations”, which are mathematical optimization models, where I explore how large battery systems can support the operation of the power grid. It aims at getting the most bang for your buck - better use of batteries and a more effective and cheaper grid infrastructure. What does it have to do with sustainability?
